Performer: Chancellor Fakih
Chancellor is a live audiovisual performance that investigates the relationship between sensory input, memory, and cognition. Using EEG and EOG sensors connected through an OpenBCI interface, the performer’s brainwave and eye-movement data are captured in real time and translated into dynamic sound and imagery through granular synthesis. The performance explores the threshold between perception and recall, treating neural activity as both data and expressive material. By transforming short-term electrical signals into evolving audiovisual patterns, Chancellor examines how memory is constructed, transmitted, and reimagined through the body’s own sensory feedback.
