Iridescent is a vertical light sculpture made of acrylic rods, bright white LED strips, and a wooden casing. Most artificial lighting sends light in one direction. Here the rods catch the light and scatter it, breaking it into prism-like reflections that spread across the surrounding walls and surfaces.
The sculpture does less to illuminate an object than to change the space around it. The light it casts takes its shape from the rods and from whatever surfaces it reaches, so that the work is seen as much in its surroundings as in itself.
