In more, a lawn mower carves the word “MORE” into a lawn on the University at Buffalo campus. The mowing continues past the point where the word is legible, pass after pass, until the letters blur into the surrounding grass and lose their shape.
The work turns routine labor into a mark and then lets the same labor erase it. Each pass that asks for more also takes away what is already there, so that accumulation and erasure become one motion. What remains is a patch of cut grass, a trace of the effort rather than the word. The title echoes the tool that writes it.
