Generative drawing and real-time audiovisual system
This collaboration sets orchestral performance in relation to a generative visual system built on three lines and three intersections, a minimal structure from which visual forms can be built. From this geometric premise, an evolving system of lines and nodes forms patterns that crystallize and dissolve in response to the dynamics and texture of the orchestra. The visuals unfold in real time with the live performance, so that musical time is encountered as a process of spatial formation. The project explores how computational drawing and symphonic structure can share a rhythm of crystallization, each taking form in relation to the other.
