blurlay explores the relation between proximity and perception through an interactive visual feedback system. Two facing screens display overlapping live video feeds captured by a centrally positioned webcam. As a visitor approaches, portions of their reflected image come into sharp focus while surrounding areas remain blurred, creating a fluctuating field of visibility shaped by distance. The closer the body moves to the interface, the more the feedback intensifies, merging the observer and image within a shared visual space. This mirrored configuration allows perception to oscillate between recognition and distortion, transforming spatial proximity into a perceptual dialogue between body, screen, and mediated reflection. blurlay examines how interactive systems construct awareness by linking vision, motion, and spatial intimacy.
